Little Bit of This and That

Feb 13, 2011 18:03

I said this a few posts ago, and I'll say it again: I seriously need to go on a diet. Or, well, let me rephrase that: I need to stop being lazy and start making my food rather than go out and buy fast food or food that isn't exactly all that healthy for me and eat that/keep leftover for future lunches (which is what I'm doing with my dinner right now, having ordered pizza). Diet, exercise...I need to get my butt in gear.  A few months ago I bought this pair of size 12 jeans that I fell completely in love with. Being a little too long, I put them in my drawer until I could find the time to take them to get hemmed...well, when I tried them on last month, they didn't fit.  Well, they fit, but I couldn't button them or zip them. So, my goal is to be able to get myself back into that pair of jeans.  Besides, I told my friend Carrie that I wanted to go on a diet before our Disney World trip so I could eat my way through the parks and not feel guilty.  ((I actually just braved the scale in my aunt's bathroom, and so long as it was working right and I converted the kilograms into pounds correcting-because the pound function wasn't working right-I weight less than I thought I did)).

Anyway, moving on from the weight topic...
Hi! Today was my first day off since last Sunday, and I have spent the day doing laundry. This last week I have been working non-stop at both Borders and Montessori, which has been nice, and yet very tiring. Although I will admit, the double paychecks, while not always a lot, are nice. I'm trying to be a little wiser with my money, since I don't have as much coming in as I did before, putting away what I can for rent, making sure I have enough for gas and groceries and the like, as well as managing to save some for my WDW trip.

Speaking of Disney World, the date has been set and my family and I are going in October, from the 11th-17th. I am so excited about this trip it's not even funny. I've been teasing my Mom that I've wanted to go to Disney World my entire life, and it's only taken her 25 years to make it happen, lol. But of all the people I'm going with, I'm glad she'll be there with me and that the two of us will be experiencing it for the first time together.  And, on a Disney note, I'm looking forward to Thursday, because Carrie and I are planning to spend the day in the park. w00ts.

And now, for a little television.
*gasps* Surprised I'm not gushing about books?  Well, I do manage to watch tv from time to time and a few shows have cought my attention. Right now I'm watching...
Being Human on Syfy.
I'm still not sure how I feel about this show.  I started with the original and am doing everything in my power not to conpare the two, because they are so different.  But, there is just something about the US verison. I can watch it, and I do watch it, only it doesn't keep my full attention. Normally when I watch tv I focus on the show and nothing else, reading during commercials or doing other things, but whenever I watch Being Human I find myself only glancing up now and then.  I want to like it, but at the moment it's just a little boring, which makes me sad.  Still, I am watching it and am curious about what makes it different and what changes it has from the original.

Face Off on Syfy.
Apparently I'm spending a lot of time watching the Syfy channel, lol. This is one of those competition shows where the contestants are makeup aritist trying to make it big. I am having a lot of fun watching this show, seeing the designs and how movie magic is made with makeup and the like.  There are a few really talented artists on the show, and right now I'm liking Connor and Anthony.  One of the guys, Tate, reminds me so much of a friend of mine I have a hard time watching him on screen.  Anyone else out there watching this?

I am looking forward to some tv shows that are due to come out later this year in the fall.  Of course, they may or may not get picked up, but I'm excited nonetheless.
-Poe: a crime drama set in 1840's Boston with Edgar Allen Poe as the main character.
-Once Upon a Time: a fairy tale drama
-17th Precint: a magic based crime drama
-Grimm: crime drama based on the fairy tales of the Bros. Grimm
You can read a little more about them and see the full list here at Bookyurt .  I love this site. It keeps me up to date on books, movies and tv.

Random: what do you like better
1) lil_zebra
2) little_zebra
I debating on something and Little Zebra is a nickname I got a while back and I wanted to use the name, but I'm not sure which looks/sounds better. Suggestions?

And with that, I hope you all have had a good weekend and have a good coming week. I am going to see if I get called to work at Montessori tomorrow and if not I think I might go check out this gym my Mom was telling me about and see if it looks like something I might want to join.  Plus, I've got pizza and food to clean up before my Aunt Debbie and Uncle Fred get home.  They are coming back from Ohio, my Aunt Debbie's father passed away last Sunday and they would like to have the house to themselves when they come home.

*huggles all around*
Nighty!

tv: face off, work: school, work: books, tv: being human, tv, disney, me: weight
