*yawns*
It's been a long day, peoples. I've been up since 7:30 this morning, and if any of you get up at or before that time on a daily basis, 1) I don't know how you do it, and 2) *claps* Bravo! This week has been work, work and more work, which to be perfectly honest is fine with me. I've been pulling double duty this week with both Borders and Montessori, and will be back at the school tomorrow and Friday floating the classrooms. By floating, I mean going room to room, making sure all teachers get their breaks on time. Doesn't sound exactly exciting, but it makes the day go by fast and it feels like I'm in and then out. Today I was at Borders, and the store was pretty quiet, and after work I headed over to my Grandma's house to do my laundry.
Speaking of laundry...
Guys, I don't like spiders. I know that seems a bit random after the mention of laundry, but there is a point. So yeah, spiders and Piyo? Thanks, but not thanks. In fact, no thanks to begin with in the whole "thanks, but no thanks". *shudder* Sure I can kill them, so long as they are not HUGE or in an awkward place I can't reach, but for the most part the creepy crawlers and I do not mix. Now, to the point of my story...last night I was chilling in my room, laying tummy down on my bed as I was watching tv, when out of the corner of my eye I saw something moving behind me in the air. At first I thought a gnat or a fly managed to sneak in my room, but no. It was a spider. A spider that was coming down from the ceiling and it was coming down right on my bed. *gasps* I freaked, and I mean FREAKED. I jumped off my bed, and somehow managed to grabbed a few tissues so I could kill the nasty little bugger (and yeah, it was a pretty small spider, but it was a SPIDER!). Of course, once the evil little guy was dead, crushed in the tissue and crumpled in the trash, I ripped the sheets off my bed. Yes, I changed my sheets because I killed a spider on them. I even grabbed the pajamas I had sitting out on my bed and threw them in my hamper because I couldn't wear them. Nope, couldn't do it. It was...so gross. Ewww.
So, moving on to good news, I won a book on GoodReads!
A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness should arrive in another 4-6 weeks, but the thrill of the win! I stumbled across the book in the newspaper and when I saw another article in a magazine a few days later I figured it was a sign. When I went to add it to my GoodReads wishlist, I noticed a giveaway and thought, what the heck, and entered. I was one of the 25 winners and look forward to giving the book a read.
And on the topic of books, I set a new goal for the year, 75 books. Current Status: 12 books.
1. The Victorian Fairy Tale Book
2. The Mermaid's Mirror
3. Angel's Blood
4. The Bookman
5. Tomorrow Will Be Better
6. Garden Spells
7. True Grit
8. In Over Her Head
9. Archangel's Kiss
10. Strange Brew
11. Burning Up
12. Nightlife
And now, I'm off to head home so I can get ready to watch Face Off on Syfy. Anyone else out there watching that?
