NaNo 2012 - The fanfic that ate my brain
In an effort to improve my skills at writing a complete, novel length story, I wrote an Avengers movie-verse fanfic featuring lots of action scenes and a bit of Clint/Natasha romance. It was EPIC! Or at least it felt like it was, because my brain still hurts from all the creative stimulation. I'm hoping that with a little bit of polishing and a beta read-through, the story will be ready to post so that others can share in the crazy.
It's been forever since I last posted. I've been working on revising the last thing I wrote for NaNoWriMo, my little contemporary romance novel written over the course of two NaNo's. Well, I signed up for the writing course, worked through several steps of it and then got lost along the way. I still think there's a good story there, but it's not a full rough draft yet. It needs more before it can qualify for a re-write, which is something I had suspected but now I'm sure of it. So, back to the drawing board on that one, but it will get wrangled into submission eventually.
Now that I've written the 50k and met the challenge, the next thing up is the holiday season. Over Thanksgiving there was some crafting while the turkey was in the oven and we decorated a box of glass ornaments with glitter and melted crayons. All the decorations are on the inside of the glass and they all turned out pretty good. It was so much fun that on Black Friday I went to Michael's and used coupons to get several boxes of ornaments in different sizes. I'll try to take some pictures of the best ones if I can get the lighting right. Glass is a bitch to photograph and I might have to get out the lightbox.
