We will now take a poll of the audience...

Raise your hand if you know what "concomitantly" means.

Yeah, I didn't either.

With the exception of Steph, who probably does know the definition, I have provided it for everyone:

"happening or existing along with or at the same time as something else"

Ok, why did this come up, you might ask. Well, part of my job is collecting feedback from doctors who attend our meetings on icky products that cure icky diseases (I love my job) and one woman wrote: "I loved having the meal served concomitantly." Ok, I'm assuming it is a woman because the handwriting was super flowery. Of course, it was also really hard to read (as is the case with 99% of doctors' handwriting I have noticed). I was trying to puzzle out what it could possibly be, so I took it to Nicole for a second opinion. She tries to figure it out letter by letter (each letter is hard to distinguish in and of itself) and puts it into word, and voila, no annoying red underline comes up. So we look it up and that's what we get. I...ok. Sure. I have never heard of this word before in my life, but some doctor decided to use it to describe her meeting experience. Well, I learned something new. Guess I should make it my goal to use that word in a sentence today.
