the one with family-related stupidity

So my grandfather (Dad's dad) just called. He talked to me for about five minutes under the assumption that I was the young girl who lives next door to him. Then he said that I had small dogs and I was like, wtf grandad this is your granddaughter (he only has two). Apparently this girl from next door is like their grandchild now, which is pretty weird. I mean, honestly, I know you get more care out of that side of my family by not being related to that side of my family. I have a cousin I don't even know because they made my aunt give up her baby.

So basically my lesson for the day is: don't bother calling your Nan to wish her a happy birthday, because you'll leave a message then your grandfather will call back and be generally insulting and have no idea who the hell you are.
