Family... especially mothers... GAH!
My mother is now 83 years old and not in good health. I was out of town last week when my sister was forced into finding out how far mom has slipped. She had a black out while driving and is adamant that it was not from falling asleep. (she came too when hearing gravel under the car and righted it before anything happened but it was on a state highway). Come to find out - this was the third episode mom has had (first 2 were on the riding lawn mower). Dr has removed all driving privileges until the cause is found which is the same effect as clipping a bird's wings for mom. My sister tried to call mom's Dr today - turns out that the guy we THOUGHT was her Dr has not been in practice in my hometown for the last 3 years. We have absolutely NO idea who my mother's Dr is since she never told us that her Dr left. Mom obviously does not want us to know much. She never tells us anything about what is happening to her unless she feels she has no choice.
Anyone else feel like they need to "take a stick and beat some sense into" their parents like our parents used to say about us?
