I blame Amanda...

Well, this weekend was the first actual weekend where I felt like I live in my new apartment. I'm not really sure what it was, but something clicked. Nothing really out of the ordinary happened this weekend, but here it was none the less:

Friday: Amanda and I both got home from work, and then her, Chad, and I headed over for a quick Hobby Lobby run. We stopped by Home Depot so Chad could get some  wire cutters, we grabbed some quick Italian food and this new place by the Mall called Artuzzi's (I was actually pretty tasty!), then headed back home. Chad put the new light kit on the ceiling fan in the living room, and Amanda and I worked on our 'Weave Map' for the the game. Chad finished up his OSAs, and I crashed out fairly early.

Saturday: Went to work, worked on character sheets, went to Frontera's for lunch, picked up John and Dante for gaming, and headed back to the house. Did a little cleaning, and when Bob and Mel came over, we start at about 5 and went until about 4. :) Yes, Gateways is crack. We had a blast!

Sunday: Slept in until about 10, then I got up and attempted the coveted 'Cheese Biscuits with Molasses recipe that Chad's mom used to make for him when he was a kid. Not to sound cocky, but my first attempt (according to Chad) was almost on the money. Because it was a southern recipe, the measurements and times aren't perfect (not to mention, I think my oven is off), so the bottoms of them were a little more done that I had hoped...but I'm fairly certain my next batch will be right on. And THAT makes me happy! :) I also attempted his mom's 'Berries and Bits' recipe, which we'll being eating tonight for desert. I'm hoping I did that one right too, but we'll just have to see. It looks right....

After everyone cut out on Sunday, I cleaned. I think thats what help me feel  a little more at home. I've been sick all week, and Sunday was the first day I actually felt well enough to do things around the house (like laundry, cooking, etc.) I'll probly continue the cleaning when I get home tonight, with the goal to be done by Wednesday. I don't have a ton of people coming over that aren't gaming, so I may actually get to have my 'Shelley Time' again. w00t!

After cleaning, I also went to Home Depot (again) and bought some window boxes and a few herbs to fill them. When I got home and set everything up, I realized that I actually have room for 2 to 3 more just on that railing side. So, I plan on picking up a few more over the next couple of weeks. I have no issue with the railings on my deck looking like a jungle. :) I'm actually musing with the idea of getting a few more pants to sit out there; a fern....perhaps even a tomato plant or something. :) We'll have to see. I never knew Amanda was a plant freak like she is, and I think she may have passed it along to me. I blame her.

Earlier this week, I also bought a Beta. I think it was just a 'life' week...with the herbs, and the fishy (who I named 'Kane' because he is quite possibly the most aggressive Beta I've ever seen). I got him a little fish tank and a couple of 'live plants' for him to swim through. I'm prepping myself for a bigger aquarium with this little one. If Kane can live fine with no issues for a couple of months, I'll assume I'm ready for the next step up....with the goal being me prepared enough for a Salt Water Aquarium.

We didn't sign up for the belly dancing class in time, but I'm going to pre-pay for the next session. I'm such a freak about 'my space' and making sure everything is put away, clean, and organized, that I just don't think I could dance right now without worrying about house my house was still not quite all the way unpacked.

Not a crazy eventful weekend, but just right I think. :)
