So 'The Man' came through....

We actually got our tax return money!!! YAY!

Chad and I have been having 'the talk' about what we're going to do with it. For those of you that don't know, I made a deal with Chad that he could have 80% of the refund, if we bought new couches when we moved in. He took the deal, and now I have 20% (which is still a nice chunk of money to play with). Chad has been toying with the idea of buying a PS3, a scanner for 'the game', an HD TiVo for our new HD TV we got (for FREE!!), stuff for our office, etc.

Amanda went to Best Buy yesterday to get a few things-the woman has always wanted a TiVo, and she got an iPod awhile back, so she got the 'docking station' and the 'car thing' so she can listen to it in her car and at home. She got a scanner, too. So, ultimately, she blew Chad's plan for his $$ out the window. We had fun going with her though; she was never allowed to spend any money before hand, so she splurged a little to get it out of her system. Good for her; she deserves it.

I'm probably going to buy clothes (I desperately need some for work), and maybe a few little things for the house. I'm going to buy some material to make pillows for our living room...maybe a piece of art or something for the living room wall....but other than that, that's pretty much it. I'm going to get my breaks fixed tomorrow (we've been budgeting for it for awhile), and possibly go shopping (!!!!!). Neat. I haven't been shopping in a long time; I hate malls on the weekends (all those people), so I may have to tough it out this weekend and get it done.

I have to update characters for the Beta Group on Saturday, and if we get office stuff, get the office set up. We've gotten so far behind on finishing up the last final things for 'the game' to get it ready for presentation, that we really have to get on the ball if we want to finish in time.

The 'Quitting Smoking' hasn't gone so well, but over the course of the week, I have cut back. Significantly. I went from Sunday to smoking a pack and a half a day (that's 30!!), to Monday going to 7, to Tuesday going to 5. I've fluctuated between 7 and 5 all week. So, I haven't quitted. But I'm doing really good, in my opinion. Its not a race, and I'm doing this for myself. So, if it takes me awhile to actually QUIT quit, then that's okay, I guess. I'm just taking it a craving at a time, a day at a time. I have made a promise with myself to not give up. Last time, I gave up because I think I set unreal expectations for myself. This time, I'm not going to give up and keep trying, every single day. That's all I can do, right?
