Don't worry. It's not River that's the problem there, it's rather the phrase itself and its definition. Please don't make me hate you, Gneil. Pleeeeease! D':
Maybe that's why Eleven is so wrong to me. He's finally broken. This might sound weird, but... Well, I know he's an alien, but the Doctor's always reminded me of the Fae from the old stories. He isn't human, doesn't quite get humans but he's still fascinated by them. He's childish and fatuous, but he's still a good faerie (insomuch as fae can be good and not benevolent neutral). Eleven... Eleven feels like a bad faerie. Like he's got something very dark and very nasty going on underneath the surface. He doesn't want companions because he's curious and lonely, he wants them so he can fuck around with them. Hell, I'd actually read that fic.
It's a fun word. It should be used more often. >7< I just put it down to Torchwood being so irreparably fucked up, nothing makes sense.
It if Jack met the new companions... Rory would be so freaked out (because we know Jack likes dorky otherwise he wouldn't have gone for Ianto or Alonso) and all embarrassed. Amy would preen, and River would give back as good as she got.
I feel like that better explains Ten than Eleven, really. And I see Eleven as healing rather than broken because really, Ten was really broken by the end. Regenerating helped there.
I can hardly stand Torchwood. Watching only to write Jack fic, really. >>;; The characters have grown on me, but dammit... Though, the Martha episodes kinda made me happy. For the Martha bits, anyway.
Pfffft, Jack likes EVERYTHING. I think the only things he'd turn down are the Master and a Dalek, really. The Doctor would never want Jack to meet Amy or River. His brain would explode. Though, it makes me think perhaps Jack would end up like what happened when Donna met him: quite overwhelmed, for once. XD
