Job: acquired. Begin training Tuesday. Have to drive to Urbana. Get paid mileage. Have very fuel efficient car. Cha-ching!
School: Worked out to the best of my ability. I'm hanging on to Psych and Comm -- can't do anything else. Oh, well. It's better than nothing, which is what I expected.
Snake: Crawling around somewhere in my hair -- can I get him out? Who knows.
Oh, yeah. Some of you probably didn't know that. I acquired a snake recently. He is a ball python named Scooter. He is currently quite small (two feet long and of negligible girth), but soon he will be large and wreaking havoc on all aircraft not inhabited by Samuel L. Jackson. All snooty British businessmen must beware. Fortunately small fluffy creatures and well-meaning idiot children are safe, so no lawsuits are likely to occur.
Anyway, now that I'm done being pretend clever, more about the job. I'm going to be drawing blood from noon-6p.m. M-F. I start at $8.59/hr (seems arbitrary, but there must be some reason for it ...). After I become "proficient" (3-6 months), I get a 50 cent raise. After I get my certification (a certain number of successful draws and taking a written exam), I get another 25 cent raise. Post that, I can get up to 25 cents every year in July. By the time I get into real nursing school, I can really be making good money -- which I'll need since I'm commuting to Peoria every day -- and Carle also has a tuition reimbursement program allowing me to spend the money in my college fund on things like getting a nice house when I get out of school. It's all very exciting and good for my future. And kind of scary for my present. I'll get over it though.
Beloit people -- When the F is Intro to Games Day? I want to come up for either that or the BBQ. Obviously, I'm pro Intro to Games Day because that means I get to game, which is in short supply 'round these parts. Anyone who fails to inform me of dates will have magic missiles shot in their general direction. By extremely angry ogres with head colds.
That said, I need to put the cat out and get to bed so I can actually have some sleep tonight. And by some, I mean 6 hours. Woo!
"That's what makes us humans being."
