I think I just need a run down of what happens each month, where you need to post what, what exactly needs to be in a post, what people like to see in a post and (I figured this one out) the technicalities of posting to a community). I'm a forum person, I don't quite get lj communities.
I still can't figure out if this post is even allowed. I don't get how posting straight to the community is not allowed, but linking is. I don't get how posting in the founder thread A. apparently is the wrong thing to do and B. doesn't get a response since it is wrong... or I don't know what to click to get special notifications for community replies? Or something?
I'm sorry, I sound really ignorant. Because I am. Bleh. Hate being a newbie.
perchalicious did a pretty awesome job of explaining, but I'll come in as a mod and agree with what was said.
This post IS allowed. You can post any sims, pets, and updates to the community (provided the updates are updates involving sims downloaded from the community), but please try not to spam the community with multiple posts per day.
If you have other questions, feel free to message me or one of the other mods. You can just hover over our icon and a little drop-down menu will show up and click 'send message'. ;)
I can never remember that I can't edit comments on this journal, so you get another comment. >_<
Please tag your posts with what the post is and the usernames. So for this one, you would tag it with your username (I'm going to create that tag in a minute). If you were posting, for example, a Viking Death Squad legacy (our current challenge), you'd use your username and the tag '!viking death squad', as well as the usernames of the people whose sims you have used. ^_^
perchalicious has done a great job explaining livejournal intricacie, but in terms of pixel_trade? Lets start at the beginning. ^_^
To have your sims be eligible for other people to use in their pixel_trade legacies/challenges etc, you just have to be a member. That's it, that's all. You just click the join up buttons and you're done.
If you want to advertise any and all random sims/pets you have made to the community, you may do so in a post directly to the comm at any time, exactly as you have done here. You tag this post with your username and !sim_submission. This is currently in a trial phase, but the trial will be ending soon and we will instate it in the rules.
If you would like to share some sims specifically in the monthly founder posts, then between the 1st and 10th of each month, a founder submission post goes up which you can submit to. All sims submitted to the founders are completely CC free for both TS2 & TS3, and have specific image requirements. Comments on that are screened and the sims submitted are revealed on the 10th in a single collection

The part that starts "Rules In-Depth" is pretty clear on how to participate.

I don't create fast enough to spam anyhow. ;)
Oh good! Tagging conventions. Thanks for clarifying.
