Alive and itching

So I'm still around, just not really updating much. It's been a stressful month with Maylee's health issues and such. We had to reschedule her dermatologist appointment because I didn't stop her anti-histamines or her derma-caps in time. I know bad doggie mommy, but she has an appointment this coming Monday for her allergy testing and such. She had another secondary bacterial infection and an ear infection in the left ear, poor girl. May is doing well despite all the crappy medical things she is dealing with. I have an active happy dog who loves to work, if she doesn't work a day she gets really bored and stands at the door as if telling me mommy we need to go work please. I try to do a route at least once a day, but I have this horrible summer cold right now and going out is a difficult right now. The weather here went from really frackin' hot to raining and chilly in a day and this is the second day of rain and chill. Great weather to help brew a summer cold that His Tallest probably brought back with him from his business trip to China.

I've been busy with Maylee and Mini-me and when I'm not hanging out with them -- I'm cleaning, reading or knitting. Oh the life! I've also been playing with my new knitting blog and May's blog as well. I'm finding that I'm enjoying using Blogger more than Livejournal, but I really like LJ's communities and commenting abilities.

I also go back to school in September! Before I apply for university I am getting an Applied Technology Certificate from a Community College that offers a program especially for people with visual impairment. They are going to teach me how to use a computer with aids like Zoomtext and JAWS to be the best little efficient computer geek I can be. Also they are taking away my mouse, so I can start learning keyboard shortcuts because they are much faster then playing with the mouse even with magnification. I know a few keyboard shortcuts, but I am really mouse dependant. The clicking sound really satisfies me, so I like to clicky, clicky! I will also learn some web design, I really hope that I learn how to use alt-tabs because I would like to make sure that my LJ and blogs are accessible for everyone and that would help. I also want to take my MOS Core Exam, so I have that on my resume as well. I'm going to be a busy girl and good thing there is a commute to school because I'll have some knitting time, once I get used to dealing with May on the bus and knitting at the same time. The Coordinator of Services for Students with Disabilities is a GDB graduate and working with her 5th dog and did I mention that she is awesome! I need to get in contact with her again at the end of August to apply and speak to her about my classes. I'm either one more step to going back to school to get my degree or working in an environment that I love. I really am thinking if there is a need out there that I'd like to get my Computer Science degree and then teaching degree (or even cert. to teach adults) so I can teach others how to use accessible technology.

Well that's all for now. Oh hold on *SQUEEEEEEEEE* the seventh book comes out on Saturday and it's being delivered to my door! I can't wait!!! As for reading, I have put down all books I'm reading currently to listen to the audiobook of the sixth HP book. I'm preparing to read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows before His Tallest who tried to use the excuse that he reads faster than me. Too bad buddy, having better eyesight then I do and being a faster reader than most of the population, now me included I was really close to his level but my vision has kicked me down a few words/minute does not let you get away with reading my book first. I pre-ordered it the beginning of this year and I will read it first! Hope everyone is well and if you are a HP fan I hope you have either pre-ordered or have good luck to get the book in your hands as fast as possible. Cheers!
