Hey Pittsburghers,
I reside in Latrobe, PA (about 40 miles East of Pittsburgh) and a High School teacher of mine was diagnosed with ALS, years ago. He recently sent me a Facebook message notifying me of a fundraiser coming up in May (I know, its a ways off). I know they've had a little trouble in the past raising money in this area so I figured I'd extend the invitation further out.
If anyone would be willing to attend, contribute or donate (regardless of where you live) it would truly be appreciated. He's a great guy and it's going towards a cause that gets overlooked a bit too often.
Here's his original message:
Hey, hey.....what's up?
Just wanted to ask you to keep Friday May 21, 2010, open. We are having an ALS fundraiser that evening at the American Legion in Latrobe. My good friend Krysta Rigney is organizing the whole shabang. Tickets will be $20/person and will include a live band "Saddle up", food, beer, a Chinese Auction, 50/50 and door prizes.
PS. If anyone (or you know of anyone) wants to donate food, OR items or services to the Chinese auction, please let me know."
If you're interested and want any more information or have questions, feel free to comment/ask or PM me.
Thanks!
