recommend a state inspection station?

We live in Oakland, and with all the walking and bus riding we do I only just noticed that our car inspection sticker is multiple months overdue (oops). Well, at least I noticed before a cop did! I don't mind driving a little ways for someplace that comes really highly recommended, but it would be ideal to find somewhere relatively close in (especially to reduce the chances of getting a ticket on the way). Also, we drive a TDi, so I'd prefer someone experienced with weird cars who's not going to take one look at a european turbodiesel and be like "why doesn't your engine have spark plugs?"
