Final Days at The Upstage

Dec 28, 2006 12:09

This will probably be redundant for most of you, but for those who are unaware, the legendary Oakland nightspot known as The Upstage will be officially closing its doors forever on 12/31. Below is the itinerary of events between now and then to mark this sad occasion. Don't miss these opportunities to give The Upstage a proper send-off!

Thursday 12/28 - Join the sweaty masses and be a part of the last 80s Nite with DJ EZ Lou in The Upstage! Cover: 21+ only ($2 before 10pm) / ($5 after 10pm). Drink Specials: $1.50 Well Drinks and Domestic Bottles 10pm-12am. Fortunately, 80s Nite with DJ EZ Lou will live on every Thursday at Prive (pronounced pri-vay) in the Strip District. More details and other information at the 80s Nite MySpace page.

Friday 12/29 - Don't miss the final live show at The Upstage with local rockabilly bands The Bessemers and Highway 13! Doors open at 10pm. Cover: 21+ only ($3).

Saturday 12/30 - Ceremony will be celebrating its 10th Anniversary as well as hosting a 'funeral' for The Upstage, as this will be the last official night the venue will ever be open! The Upstage will be opening its doors at 8pm for this occasion! Cover: 21+ ($5) / 18+ ($8 - includes 2 drink tickets).

The entire current Night Shift roster will be on deck, along with special guest Night Shift alumni, KellyA and DJ Reason. The event will feature a variety of visual displays and decor to pay tribute to the past 10 years at Ceremony, the longest running dark/alternative dance club in Pittsburgh. There will also be a special display for you to 'leave your mark' and say goodbye to The Upstage in style. This will be a very special event but certainly not the end of Ceremony. Beginning January 10th, Ceremony (hosted by The Night Shift) will be held at Pegasus every Wednesday, 9pm-2am.
