This week, the biggest news is that PitterBoy from the University of Technology, Sydney, has got a job. I will be working at the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority(SCAA) as an Aeronautical Telecommunications Engineer. At last, my dream of becoming an engineer will be true.
The job is located at Seychelles International Airport, approximately 1 hour away, which is 2 bus rides from my home. It is a bit far I admit, but I this is an opportunity which I cannot afford to let go. The job entitles the combination of IT, Telecommunications and Aviation. Aviation is new to me, but I was one of these boys that always wanted to become a pilot once upon a time, and that was the part of the job which really made my decision for me. Now I get to do telecom stuff, and get to learn all that fancy stuff to do with planes. YAH.
However, big job comes with big responsibilities. As one would know, the airport is one of the most sensitive places to work in a country, and I am under no illution on the importance of the job I will be doing. The following months would be mainly a repetition of uni, as I will have to learn so many things about many other things. I must admit I am concerned at the work load( but are terrifide about parts of the job, which requires my french skills AHHHH), but I feel confident and I am also starting something new, which should also be exciting. I will get the chance to learn a lot of technical stuff from (a telecom company)CW engineers and will learn about the latest telecom instruments regarding telecommunications and aviation.
OK, that means that i have 3 more days of holidays. I better make the most of it and go to the beach or something. But before then, I would like to thank everyone in Sydney, who has helped me one way or another to get to where I am at this moment. Unilife in Sydney could have been difficult for me, but I met a lot of people who has helped me in my studies, over the yrs....long hrs in the lab..........others has helped me make my social life something that so many other people envied thanks! and the others who gave me jobs here and there ensuring I go broke slower:) for the moral support....my soccer buddies.....my girlfriends.... and most importantly to the people who could be bothered to listen to all my shit over the yrs, and try to comfort me and give good advice....they know who they are.....so THANK YOU all.
This brings an official end to my unilife. It has been a good one, and I am now ready to take the next step into the real world.
