In a majority of previous semesters, this is the juncture where studying and writing papers pushes into overdrive. This semester is an exception. How did I ever get so lucky?
There remain two history classes to attend. One paper is due, no final. There are several weeks remaining for the political science class. One paper on due process was canceled which leaves a single a take home, essay-based final.
Just wow! What will I do without all the stress?
Received a paper back today from the political science class covering considerations in judicial review. I'm still skipping about. Not only did it earn an A+, but he commented, "Excellent work - above and beyond." If people could understand how much work and research I put into each of these papers, and how I fret about the quality, only then could they understand why these grades matter so much.
Some in the family call me a perfectionist. Maybe it's a fair assessment. Way, way back when I was a lowly PV2, at the tender age of 17, one of the best supervisors I've ever served under ingrained into my thinking: if a job is worth doing, it's worth doing well. This CPT, who eventually earned full-bird, never let us give anything but our best. All of us would be better people with inspiration such as she. Here's to you, COL Lynda Lamb! Thank you for contributing to all the successes I've enjoyed throughout life.
gratitude,
