so today I had my first outing -- Paul offered to be parent-in-charge for a few hours each weekend, a) so I can get out and not run errands and b) so Tobo gets some dad time without mom hovering. I went out and watched the dark knight. It was really good and I'm glad I got to see it in the theater. (sorry I missed your call ma!) The only sad thing was I didn't really know any girlfriends who like scifi enough to go see it with me so I went alone. (me misses chesh) If I wanted to see the most recent chick flick I could totally have a group of about 12 ready to go, but sadly not many takers for comic book movies.
One of the things I found out that has changed since I had tobo is that I don't handle threatened violence in film very well any more. My gut reaction is tied up with Tobo and keeping him safe. I noticed this on a couple of movies I've watched on DVD, and I was flinching every time the joker threatened someone with his knife. That a side, the film is as good as everyone said it was. I think better than batman begins even if bb had more ninjas. There were two trailers of interest The prequel terminator and of course watchmen. Can't wait.
So tonight, I'm mom-in-charge again, back to carrot stains, rolling and trying to crawl. But it was awesome to get out even if it wasn't with Paul. Some day we'll get out together. Wish I knew more scifi wimens in denver though. :/
