The man who stole her heart was named Donovan. He was a complete mystery all the time, Even to her. He took her in, fed her, clothed her so she never let on how much he worried her. He would go out late most nights and did not come back till morning. One morning she followed him into the bathroom after he had come home. He was crouching over the sink and covered in blood. When she asked what happened he screamed at her to get out NOW! They never talked about it but she was scared.
One night he sits her on the bed. "I bet you want to know what I've been up to all these nights." he says to her and she doesn't speak only nods. "I need to show you something," and he stands back, looks out the window at the approaching dusk. He takes out a bottle of purple liquid from his pants pocket then he takes off all his clothes. Standing there naked he looks out the window again and the sun had ste by this time. He opens the bottle and pours out the liquid all over his body and takes another long, deep breath and whispers "It's time." Then like a wave, soft, black hair spouted all over his body. His ears elongated and his nose and eyes grew taking the shape of a dog's. His skin stretched tight and Astrid could see his spine as it grew and twisted, forcing him on all fours. His arms shot up inside him so that he was closer to the ground and his legs curved, his feet grew and by the time the process was done there was a large tailess dog where Donovan once stood.
Astrid was still sitting on the bed gaping at him, unbelieving. She had hardly blinked or taken a breath this entire time. Finally he lets out a long howl and Astrid throws one hand up to her mouth in Awwe. She's both terrified and intrigued looking around the room. What she's looking for ,she's not sure. A trap door, mirrors, anything that could make this a trick, except it wasn't a trick and she knew it.
Slowly the beast began to move towards her and she trembled slightly but he did not attack. He pulled on her skirt edging her to follow him., which she did. She followed him outside and down the street. They stopped by a graveyard
and he led her down a path to the center of it, which he made her stand in. He stood on the outside of the circle and let out a loud howl. Soon you heard more and from every direction wolves came. Astrid was terrified she didn't know what to expect. But they were calm...
All I got for now...more's to come.
