in my opinion, finals week should be two or three days. go back to the high school way, i say.

i recently read erskine caldwell's "tobacco road"--easily the saddest and most horrifying piece of literature i've read. it really tore me up, which was a new experience for me. it made me feel that i've been cheated by other portrayals of struggling american society. i'm not phrasing this correctly, i'll defer to simply recommending the book to whoever may be interested.

recently, marquette decided to not renew the contact of one of the leading hiv/aids experts: karen ivantic-doucette. evidently, our president, father robert wild (who holds open forums called "where's wild-o?" in which he displays a constant erection, likely caused by the provost), didn't like her lecture style. we are marquette.

i'm going to new orleans a week from today. if i don't run into fats domino, the whole trip will be in vain.
