As I mentioned in the previous post, one of the things I got for Christmas was a trip to the yarn store. I came home with 16 balls of Plymouth Encore in a whole rainbow of colors to use in my toy designs! I feel like a kid with a brand new box of crayons. I'm very excited about designing more toys (almost done with Mr. Oatlion, I'm just fine-tuning the details), and now I have a full palette of colors in a good toy yarn. Hooray!
Yesterday we took my dad and stepmom shopping at the flea market, which they got a kick out of (and found some great stuff at), and then we went to the mall for the end of our gift shopping trip: a whole mess of DVDs for Sean. We also stopped at Sears and I got a couple little newborn outfits, which is the first shopping I've done for the grub. I'd been putting off even thinking about what I need to get and do before the grub arrives (my goal is to really not think about it until after Otto's birthday, at which point I'll still have two months, which is plenty), but there we were in Sears and I saw the cutest little outfit (white with green stars all over), so we got it, as well as a couple of those Sweetpea sacks. It's so funny, it made the grub seem "more real" to finally buy something. Not that I haven't been feeling real kicks and disco dancing every single day! Something is very different about the second time around, though. I think about being pregnant a lot less than I did with Otto. I think it's because while every kid (and every pregnancy) is different, since I've already done this once before I'm a lot more confident and cool about the whole thing.
