Otto took an extremely well-timed two hour nap yesterday and I managed to get some studio time in. I've been having tons of ideas lately, so a lot of my time was spent sketching and doodling, which is very relaxing. I also got a small test swatch for an exciting knitted/felted project almost done... I'm hoping I can finish that up and get it felted today.
I was thinking about my creative process a while back, and realized that when I get stuck, the very best thing I can do is make something, anything, no matter how uninspired I feel. Just the act of making causes the cascade of ideas to happen, and before I know it, I have another exciting project to work on. So I keep a list of things, and some little half-finished boring bits around, and I can work on them when I don't feel like working on anything else. After years of getting into a funk when I was stuck and just waiting for it to pass, it's so nice to have figured out how to jump-start everything!
