I'm still alive
For the few folks who read my LJ journal, just a quick note that I'm still alive.
I'm also still unemployed, after over 7 months. I've had one interview which I didn't get. As it was for a public library position, and I've not done public library stuff for over 2 decades, I'm not really surprised. And except for needing a job with an income, I'm not really sad about not getting it. I've also got a job which says they're going to interview me, eventually, if they can ever get the navy folks they work with to find time to do interviews. And I had an interview for a long term temp position last week, which I will hopefully hear about in the next day or two, and which will hopefully be a yes, because a) the job sounds like something I'd do well b) it sounds interesting and busy and c) we really need the money.
I'm also starting accounting classes, since so many positions, even general admin assistant ones, seem to need you to be able to do at least basic bookkeeping. Since I don't have any job experience doing it, I figure classes, or even a community college certificate won't hurt.
Sigh.
The lottery gods really need to get their act together. Soon.
