(kinda sad that most of my time here at work ends up being spent at the computer, playing freecell and minesweeper...)
well, not much to report, although i will say i have about three weeks left here... god i miss all the friends i actually call friends...(-_-)
China is getting very desperate for electric power. Our workplace had our entire last week pretty much cut in half because our power was cut off in the afternoons. Therefore, our workdays were shortened to just the mornings from 8 to 1230, from tuesday to friday, and had saturday was free. Not too effective for getting work done, since everyone was still half asleep when they got to work. :-p
Last week my dad bothered to come visit me. Brought over a big box of...... Fish... *fish gesture*
To tell you the truth that was very pleasing, cuz i was starting to miss decent fish. Good tuna, especially the toro (fatty tuna) was very nice indeed, along with good soy sauce, and very good wasabi... mmm....sashimiiiiiii............... Other stuff included Sake (salmon, no not rice wine, jenn / kris / hector / micah!), Unagi (eel, sea eel in this case), Tara (some sort of cod, and i like it), and some Uni (sea urchin, to tell you the truth i dont really like urchin, but it was still very good, being possibly the best urchin you can get in japan). Some Tsukemono (pickled veggie and stuff... a japanese thing) along with that, and there was a quite happy me... things like this make me very happy to've been born in a japanese family. :-D
wishing the best for all've you there. except for those who're getting on planes, i hope mother nature has a grudge against planes so that you will somehow be diverted to land in shanghai.
