As I mentioned before, I have been using proactiv and well I had to stop. It made everything so much worse that I had to go to my dermatologist and get medication to fix the damage. I spent $170 on the proactiv kit and got back $100 but then had to spend $120 to fix the damage...how aggravating! So that was a month ago, and well since then my face has gotten better. You can still see what Proactiv did to my face but at least it doesn't look as bad. Still in the process of damage control and I'm sure it's going to cost me quite a bit of money to fix it completely. That's the last time I try something advertised on TV. What's worst, is that the damage could have been less if the chick I talked to from Proactiv had told me that I should have stopped using because what was happening wasn't normal. I emailed her after 1 month of using the stuff and explained to her what was happening....she tells me to keep using it because everybody's face is different and will react differently. Now, after searching through the General FAQs on the Proactiv page, I found out that what was happening was an allergic reaction to the Benzol Peroxide (I think that's what it is). What really peeves me off is that they have a section entitled "Allergic reactions and side effects FAQs" but that kind of reaction wasn't listed there. I had to search through a list of useless questions before I got an answer as to why my face reacted the way it did. Stupid Proactiv and stupid people who work there. I was better off not using Proactiv and just sticking with my Cetaphil and Garnier Toner.
Lesson of the Day: DO NOT TRY TV ADVERTISED ACNE SOLUTIONS! TRUST YOUR DERMOTOLOGIST EVEN IF HIS MEDICATIONS COST A SMALL FORTUNE AT LEAST YOU KNOW THEY WORK!
OK to more important matters. I've just had my first week of Honours classes and I must say that I think it'll be an enjoyable year. The classes aren't so bad, my lecturers are cool and the assessment is so much. A little doubtful about my thesis project but I've come up with 2 options:
- Neural dysfunction in drug abusers and neural networks which determine there repetitive drug abuse patterns
- The connection between spatial attention and emotion as directed by neuronal networks
I think I might do the second project option as it'll be easier to recruit subjects...I get to use first year psyc students as guinea pigs...I can't wait...I'm quite excited about this year. My supervisor is cool...his funny and laid back and I know this year will be fun because his so cool and I actually wanted him as my supervisor.
