Prompt-Ficlets #3. Starting to run out of prompts now, feel free to suggest one.
Thunder
(Semi-Sequel to Innocence and Rescue. Anyone knows a good name for this ‘verse, let me know.)
Wally yelped as Thunder crashed outside, jumping from his bed and speeding down the hall to Piper’s room, jumping under the covers the instant he was through the door. Piper jumped slightly and lifted the covers to look at the trembling boy, chuckling lightly. “You know Mark would never let the lightning hit the house, right?”
“Bad memories.” Wally whimpered, yelping again when another thunderclap sounded. Piper sighed and got up, walking over to his window and pulling it up to sick his head outside.
“Mark, kill the thunder. You’re scaring the kid.” He yelled. His only response was another thunderclap, louder this time, that sent Wally even deeper under his covers. Piper frowned, then smirked and grabbed his flute, playing quickly. A few seconds later he heard a yelp and looked outside again to see Mark being chased by a small army of angry rats. Smiling contently, he returned to his bed and pulled Wally close.
Shades of Gray
(Not sure how well I kept to the topic on this one. It kind of got away from me. Semi-Sequel to Innocence, Rescue, and Thunder.)
“It’s simple, really. Someone is either good or bad, white or black, yang or yin. There is no in-between no matter what people want to believe. A hero is a hero and a villain is a villain. A villain will never do anything good, especially if it helps others.” Kid Flash looked at Robin, smirking.
“Oh, what if I can prove you wrong.” He asked, tilting his head.
“You can’t, but if you want to try I guess I can humor you.” No sooner had the Boy Wonder said these then he’d been whisked away. When he could see more than just blurs again he looked around. He was in a messy house (Alfred would have a fit), two chairs and a couch gathered around a table. There were posters all over the walls -- some of the Flash and Kid Flash (Robin noted worriedly that the Flash pictured were covered in darts, thankfully the soft kind), some wanted posters of the Keystone Rouges, and even an old circus poster in what looked like Italian. There was even what looked like a boomerang stuck in the wall close to the ceiling with a sticky note next to it, though Robin couldn’t read it from where he was standing. “Alright, where’d you bring me this time?”
“Home.” Kid Flash said before zooming around the house. When he returned, he was followed by a group in brightly colored costumes. Robin’s eyes widened, recognizing the Flash’s major villains. “Robin, I’d like you to meet my family.”
Were-anything-but-wolves
Captain Cold glared up at the other Rogues, all of whom were laughing uncontrollably. He slowly crossed his flippers, turned up his beak, and waddled away, preying the full moon disappeared before Trickster got the idea to reenact scenes from Happy Feet.
