Prompts 2

My second batch of Prompt-Ficlets. Enjoy.

Drunk with Power
"Don't you see, James? I can make anyone do anything. My powers have no limit"
"Yea, Hart, you could, but then you wouldn't be you anymore."

Innocence
Piper looked down at the child he’d found, brushing some filthy hair away from his face and kneeling down so he wouldn’t look so intimidating. He couldn’t help but smile at the timid innocence reflected in the child’s eyes. “Hey there. What are you doing out so late, don’t you know this is a bad neighborhood?” He asked softly. The child sniffled lightly, nodding.
“Daddy won’t let me back in until I steal him something good.” The child’s voice was raspy, like he had been crying recently. Piper’s smile vanished as he looked around, sighing and standing up.
“The rain won’t be stopping anytime soon. Come on, you can stay with me.” He said, holding his hand out for the child. He barely blinked and suddenly the kid had latched on to his waist, hugging him. He chuckled, the jerked down when the kid suddenly collapsed again and realized he’d have to carry the poor boy, who looked like he hadn’t eaten in days. It was a miracle he had clung to his innocence so long.

Rescue
(Semi-sequel to Innocence)

Piper frowned, looking between the boy he’d found two months ago and the glowering Flash, his hand twitching lightly towards his sonic-gun. “You’re here to ‘rescue’ him? Where were you two months ago when he was half-starved in an alley, kicked out of his own house?” He asked in a steady monotone, eyes narrowing. “You’re to late this time, Flash. He’s already been rescued.”
“You won’t get your hands on him again. You’re going to jail for kidnapping and he’s going home where he’s safe.” Flash said, hand on the boys shoulder. The boy looked up at him, eyes wide, then turned back to Piper pleadingly. Piper smiled lightly and turned back towards the Rouges.
“Alright, then. Let’s go home, Wally.” Next second, Wally was by Piper’s side and Flash was caught in some sticky goop from the blue and yellow egg Trickster had thrown at him from behind.

Like Father, Like Son

Piper closed his eyes and took a deep breath. When he opened his eyes again, the scene in front of him hadn’t changes a bit. Captain Boomerang was still strung up by his ankles, covered in blue and yellow goop and gagged with his own hat, the ceiling fan he was tied to spinning slowly. Slowly, Piper stepped forward and plucked a Little Joker playing card that had blue and yellow stripes drawn all over it with scented markers. The words ‘Nobody insults my dad and papa.’ written in green. Piper sighed and walked back to the hallway, looking up the stairs. “Puck! Come let Boomer go.” He yelled, smiling when he heard a few light crashes before the younger blonde came, literally, flying down the stairs to give him a hug.
“Welcome home, Dad. Can’t I leave him up a little longer. He called you and papa the f word.”
“Axel. Let him down before your Papa sees this and gets any ideas.”
    “Yes Dad.”
