Soooooo, if I want to be inspired to write Scott/Barda fic, I should make offerings to Hartley? Good to know. Would he like the traditional livestock, or would a more modern equivalent, like chocolate (for the tastiness element) or technology (for the wealth element) be a better idea? ;)
I can see why they'd be nervous about Barry: if Barry's back, then there really is nothing constant in their lives. They missed him when he died, they complained for years, but by now Wally's the status quo. Changing that is changing one more thing they thought was a constant. And Barry would come after them because that's how the game works. From their perspective, it's what Barry does. (Plus, when Barry was last alive, all the angst and darkness and suck of everything from Identity Crisis forward hadn't happened. I'd be nervous too.)
oooh like a how will the modern status quo effect Barry - like him coming back to life learning of Bart only to have it followed by oh and the Rogues killed him? Escalation for escalation without context?

I'd think they're fairly familiar with change, though -- they had Barry for years, and then he was gone, replaced by Wally. They had former members of their own who are now gone, and replaced by newcomers (Mirror Master, Boomerang, Trickster). The Top dies and comes back regularly. Even they all died and returned once. Why would the return of Barry be much of a surprise, or so unusual?
And Barry was a lot gentler than Wally, so worrying about him beating them up is strange. It's true that they've gotten darker and he might be angry at them for it, but if I were them I'd be more frightened of Wally than Barry. I guess there's something to be said for worrying about the unknown, though.

True, but Barry's return is coming right on top of a series of big, bad changes--after this "one fucked-up year", to steal a phrase, none of them are anything like stable, especially not Barry's Rogues. Writers have done to them all what Desaad did to Hartley--strip away one thing at a time, one small blow to take away one piece of support, until something that they could've dealt with before would knock them over. Sadly, the odds of any of them being able to blow Didio's head up are slim.
They could be worried about the Return of the Sucky Mindwipe Plot of Suck. I know I am.
That's...interesting. Does that mean he'll get co-opted for actual plot-reasons into Final Crisis?
Or does he just get stuck in Iron Heights to get even wackier? I mean, it's not like he came out with a *rat fixation* the last time he was there.
As for Josh, I'm thinking disappeared into the time-stream. It's not like there aren't *other* time-displaced kids wandering around the DCU because of the Flash books. As long as the crackly lightening around Libra afterwards doesn't indicate that *he* is adult-Josh, it's all good.
As to Inertia, really, who thinks that bringing along the impulsive Chaotic Evil psychopath to hostile negotiations is *ever* a good idea? At least all the other Rogues can *cow* Axel; no one could make Inertia afraid for long enough.

I think he will be. I'd kind of suspected as much ever since the beginning (as long as the Anti-Life Equation is turning everyone into slaves, wouldn't it make sense for a guy who manipulates it to help defeat it?), but this adds more weight to the theory.

My initial thoughts were ".....well. That was anti-climactic." *sigh* You can really tell that it was cut down from six issues. Poor Piper got gypped out of his Big Moment >.< He was totally AMAZING for all of thirty seconds >.< And confirms he knows Tae Kwan Leep *LOLOLOLOL* Seriously, why was Piper even in this? He had, like, nothing to do. Love him as I do, from a story point of view, he was completely unnecessary and his character was not well served. From a story point of view, he should have been struck from the line-up. This had better tie into something else, something bigger, or else it's just a red herring. And from Johns, a red herring is a disappointment.
