Dear Yuletide Author:

First, you are made of awesome sauce.

Second, thank you for offering any of the fandoms I requested.

And third, you are made of even more awesome sauce.

I like:
-showing not telling
-gratuitous references (especially to art and literature)
-banter
-build up
-requiring the audience to go back and reread the fic in order to pick up everything that happened (like, something that initially seemed insignificant turns out to be important)
-worldbuilding within the canon universe
-heavily stylized structure (like, the story is told only through a series of telegrams, or as an old-school fairy tale, etc.)
-that one moment when everything goes horribly, irreversibly wrong
-existential horror

I don't like:
-Sex scenes just for the sake of having a sex scene- it has to expand upon whatever themes are in the fic, or work to further the plot, etc. I tend to view them as another way for characters to interact together, if it makes sense for them to interact in that way, not just "omg hawt."
-cracky humor unless it makes sense within the context of the fic
-gratuitous descriptions
-fluff and happy endings, unless it makes sense in the context of the fic

Thank you very much for taking this on, and I can't wait to see what you come up with!
