Saturday was one of the busier Saturdays I've had in a while. I looked at everything and decided I simply did not have time for Silent Book Club; David also wanted me to buy catfish that was on sale at Rouse's for dinner, and shopping after SBC ended at 4:00 would have put me home kind of late for that. Yesterday was the last day of hurricane season. I thought for sure this summer was going to be a bad one. It was extremely hot--yes, even for coastal Louisiana--and weirdly dry, and I spent months at a background simmer of existential dread. Instead, not a peep.
