My work keyboard developed a sticky 0 key this week, randomly inserting strings of 0000000000000s into my emails and documents. I knew if I asked work to replace it they would give me some crusty old piece of junk from storage that was full of other people's ancient lunch crumbs, so I just decided to buy my own. And if I was gonna buy my own, I might as well get something I really liked, instead of some $12 Amazon Basics boring keyboard.
This is a wired version of the bluetooth keyboard I use at home with my tablet, except that one is a black and white color scheme and is more miniature, lacking the keys to the right of the backspace/enter/shift buttons.
The only problem is now I think I want a new mouse, because the one I have looks old and gross in comparison.

This is a good book to read if your kink is watching Millennial white dudes repeatedly punch themselves in the dick. Also a good reminder of what vampires writers are. I guess all artists are, really, so I should probably include myself. But writers, man; if you have one in your life you just need to resign yourself to the fact that something you thought was yours, or just between you and the writer, will eventually wind up in their writing, although it might be so distorted that you'll barely recognize it. (I should talk, anyway; I've been a diary keeper since I was 8 and written some form of a blog for over 20 years.)
I'm still re-reading Maplecroft, but I bought a couple of books today. I decided to start tackling Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars trilogy, and I got Stephen King's Mr. Mercedes. Which is itself part of a trilogy, so if I like it I'll probably eventually read the whole thing. I haven't read anything by King in a long time, except for periodically re-reading some of his old books (The Shining is still one of my favorite horror novels). The last time I read something of his shortly after it was published, it was probably the 1990s. But I started re-watching the HBO adaptation of The Outsider, and I just really like the character of Holly Gibney--although part of that might be that she's played by Cynthia Erivo in that series, and I really like her. I know Gibney isn't the main protagonist in Mr. Mercedes, but I still thought I'd begin at the beginning.
My brother texted me a link for this trailer with the sentence "Hey I don't know if you're tired of this subject yet but"

To which I responded I WILL NEVER BE TIRED OF MEDIA ABOUT HOW CRYPTO IS A GIANT FUCKING SCAM. Although in this case it seems like it was a scam scam.

I bought Lori and Jeremy's presents this morning and I'm done with Christmas shopping. Or mostly; Greg never wants anything but gift cards and I can just get those at CVS.
Oh, and I have a Bluesky account now. If you're on there and want to follow me I'm @sarah-smile.
