Weekend accomplishments

Saturday I made breakfast, got my haircut, and went to the carwash and the grocery store. I watched Reptile, which I thought was pretty good. It was interesting that [Spoiler (click to open)]you never really find out exactly who is behind the murder; I mean obviously it was Justin Timberlake and Frances Fisher, but they would have hired someone to do it. People like that don't get their hands that dirty. And Alicia Silverstone! Where's she been hiding?

I finished another watercolor exercise sheet while watching that:

Sunday I got kolaches for breakfast, changed the bedsheets, did a load of laundry, and did a little pre-packing. For supper I made my mushroom wellington, which David always says tastes like "the most expensive thing on the menu at a vegetarian restaurant".

It's also got pecans, rosemary, and a little goat cheese.

For dessert I made the gingerbread from Baking Yesteryear, although as always when I make gingerbread instead of molasses I used Steen's cane syrup. Steen's is a hyper-local product for me, being made not just in the state I live in, but the town.

After supper I watched the new episodes of Dateline and finished another watercolor sheet.

It probably seems like I did it really fast, but I was nearly finished with the previous one, so I actually spent most of Saturday night (and a good chunk of Sunday morning) working on this one.

Today I left the house about a quarter to 11:00 and got to my Airbnb about 3:30 (making a quick detour for some groceries). Technically I'm in Delhi, but we're not in the town. My phone flashed a weather alert--only gonna be a few degrees above freezing tonight!--shortly after I arrived, and it just gave the location as "Richland Parish". I'm at what looks like an off-book RV park, although this being Louisiana, if you're out in the parish no one really gives a shit what you do on your property. I'm in a little yellow trailer with a tiny patio area, very cute. They left me a couple space heaters and a heated blanket, so although trailers usually have terrible insulation I should be warm enough.

Oh, and David texted me that Mom did go to physical therapy. So that's one thing I don't need to worry about for the next few days.

watercolors, i need a vacation from this vacation, she's crafty, reptile
