Self-care Saturday
Restocks! I got some orange and lime essential oils; I still have a little of both left, but only a few drops. I use citrus essential oil(s) in pretty much every mixture I make, but luckily they're the lowest priced essential oils. Citrus fruits have a lot of oil in their peels, and most of the essential oil on the market is just a by-product of the juice industry.
I also bought some underpants and sports bras. I will wear outer clothing until it's literally falling apart and/or has holes in it, but I was raised to always have on respectable drawers. Also luckily, I am strictly a Hanes or Jockey cotton bikini girl, so those aren't expensive to replace.
I don't discuss my place in the pride rainbow very much, but I'm one of those usually forgotten, tacked-on-at-the-end As. Or, as I sometimes like to refer to myself, one of Freud's only true sexual perverts: the people who aren't interested in having any. All of which is to say, I only care about my underwear being comfortable and clean and, in case I get in an accident or have a heart attack and have to go to the ER, not shabby.
I wonder if moms still yell at their kids to always have on clean underwear in case they're in accident, or if that's something that died out with my generation. Of all the dumb things Mom has yelled at me over the years, I've managed to ignore a lot of them, but for some reason the underwear thing stuck. Not that I think grown-ass adults shouldn't manage to wear clean underwear without holes.
I'm also going back to New Orleans next weekend for a last stay with Lori and Jeremy before they go back to Seattle (for at least the rest of the year). A friend of mine from high school that is one of the few I've kept in touch with is coming back to California from visiting his husband's parents on the east coast, and they decided to fly through NO and spend one day there, and it's next Sunday. So I'll get to hang out with Lori and Jeremy on Saturday, then do something with Brandon (probably meet for brunch or something) on Sunday before going home. I haven't seen him in... it must be about 20 years?
