Got my hair cut for the first time since the weekend after Thanksgiving. I've had an undercut for a couple of years and could probably stand to get it cut more often than once every 6 weeks, but haircuts are expensive. (Partly because I tip my stylist like, 35%. She stands on her feet on cement all day and I'm sure a lot of her clients are real Karens. I couldn't do her job for any amount of money.)
Got the first king cake of the season. Rian gets a taste of Carnival season before going back home on Tuesday. I also bought some kolaches for breakfast for the same reason. He can actually get the real item at home; Chicago has a robust Czech community. But these are the TX/LA kind, with sausage and cheese inside a yeast roll, an innovation borne of post-Cold War Czech immigration to the Houston area. And our local bakery is owned by Laotian immigrants. 'Murica!
Bought 8 big fat Texas ruby red grapefruits at the grocery store and made some salty dogs for my brothers and me.
