Fruit and Nuts
I saw Apocalypto at the weekend. Mel Gibson might be turning into a nut, but he can still spin a decent action adventure. Perhaps because of its jungle setting, the cinematography was very rich and pleasing on the eye. The vast city was pretty impressive. And I think this guy looks about as close to an orc as you'll get in real life:
There was a loud red-haired woman gabbing at about a zillion words a second to a friend on the train this evening, like she had just accidentally put amphetamines instead of sugar into her coffee. She was probably the faster speaker I have ever heard. She was nearly shouting to her friend about some essay she had to do before tomorrow, then after an expletive-ridden phone call, she suddenly started ranting about security in Rome and how one of her friends had been pickpocketed in a cafe there and wasn't it shocking and something really had to be done about it. It all felt a little surreal.
