20th Anniversary? How Time Flies....and Not Always in a Good Way!

Hello All,

Well, to all of you who are longtime LJ friends....you already know the most dramatic, scary night/early morning of my life.

And, tomorrow morning....the 17th of January..at 4:31 AM marks the 20th anniversary of that damned Northridge Earthquake.

Over the years..the pain and trauma has lessened...blessedly.

But, would you believe it...? The night before last we were awakened again at 1:30 AM with another one. No where near the magnitude. Only a 4.4 and not so close to me...yet rolling and jumping enough to wake the Valley up!

So, I will go to sleep tonight as I have for 20 years, with a flashlight, shoes, my little transistor radio tuned to KFI AM Los Angeles, of course, some type of religous article, and a bottle of water and probably a flask or some other type of container of spirits!

My sweet cat and dog are gone now...surviving that awful night with me, as are my dear neighbors...and I will be moving from here within a month.

But, I will NEVER forget that morning...ever. I am grateful to be alive.

As my now deceased friend/neighbor...who died in June at 103 and lived next door at the time, where I now live in her back house apt....Time marches on!
