checking in and pairing meme

My endoscopy was today at noon, and it went well. I was definitely pretty scared over the whole thing, but the anesthesia kicked in within seconds and I had no problem at all waking up. The worst part was the IV, or rather, the tape holding in the IV. They used the same tape on me that they use on infants, and it still was nearly impossible to get ( Read more... )

Ooh, yay on your diagnosis stuff! I'm so encouraged for you that you are finally getting some useful answers! And thank the gods in every pantheon that you don't have Crohn's, because that is a yucky disease.

*sends healing hugs your way*

Thank you! :)

BTW, I'm sorry I missed everyone last night. I woke up just as people were driving away. :( I bet Seth was happy, though, getting to squish-torture the Osamster again!

Man, you're keeping odd hours these days!

And no problem on the sleeping. Yeah, the Kid loves Osama!

And gaming provides weird bits of conversation that taken out of context can be quite weird. I came home last night and was greeted by the Husband with

H: "The Kid died. I killed him."
Me: "Yay, I'm so proud of you! How'd he take it?"
H: "Oh, he was fine with it."
Me: "Did he get resurrected?"
H: "Yeah. He lost some of his stuff though."

Ahem. The sort of thing you *don't* want child services to hear.

It isn't just us gamers though, because at the Va. Festival of the Book, I walked past a dad and his approximately 4-yo son. The kid was describing in very loud excited detail about "He cut off that guy's arm with his light sabre!"

I'm having a horrible time sleeping in general lately. :(

And yeah, I heard that his character died. Weird, games where the PCs die... totally not used to that!

I'm so glad the procedure went well, and that they were able to rule out some nasty stuff! I hope he's able to keep helping you find answers!

Oh, and as for the Ship, you don't mention SG:A, so I can't do Rodney/Elizabeth, so .... McGonagall/Snape.

You're going to smack me for saying this, but I'd have a hard time saying 100 words about any SG-A character, they're all so "meh" to me. About all I can come up with about Rodney/Elizabeth are "two highly annoying people who can get together and have a pity party about how meeeean the military is." The whole anti-military bias on that show and its parent is really, really starting to bug me. (That, and the only pairing that works for me on there is Elizabeth/Teyla.)

As for McGonagall/Snape, I ♥ that ship! (About as much as Snape/Hooch, which is the other Snape ship that makes sense to me.) Hard to come up with much beyond what ataniell93 said about it here. I don't think they would completely trust each other, but they've got the kind of mutual respect for one another inherent to a friendly professional rivalry, and I think each can find quite a bit to admire in the other. BTW, if you ever see good fic from this ship, please point me at it. :)

But the esophagus doesn't look eroded and there are no ulcers, and I definitely don't have Crohn's disease. I'm really glad to have these things ruled out!!

I am glad too! *hugs* I'm glad to know that those things were ruled out as well. *biggest of snuggles* You have been in my thoughts this week for this. You know I love you lots!

And yeah, some of that tape they use in hospitals REALLY HURTS!

Thank you ever so much to everyone who said prayers over my big-babying of this procedure, I really, really appreciate it.

You weren't being a baby. Any sort of surgical procedure can be FRIGHTENING! You were very brave and I'm very proud of you. I know your Gods are also!
