My endoscopy was today at noon, and it went well. I was definitely pretty scared over the whole thing, but the anesthesia kicked in within seconds and I had no problem at all waking up. The worst part was the IV, or rather, the tape holding in the IV. They used the same tape on me that they use on infants, and it still was nearly impossible to get off. The nurse said that I have thinner skin than some babies she's seen, and definitely was the worst "tape causing pain" experience she'd ever seen. The part of my arm where they put the automatic blood pressure cuff is also painful and has bruises all over it. Although I've been rubbing herbal salve into those areas of my arm since I got home and it's better than it was-- at least I can bend my arm now.
As for the results, the doctor said that my insides look pretty good except for some gastritis/stomach inflammation. He took biopsy tissue from various places to decipher the cause of the gastritis. But the esophagus doesn't look eroded and there are no ulcers, and I definitely don't have Crohn's disease. I'm really glad to have these things ruled out!! I really felt like my Gods were watching over me during the procedure, and I was amused to discover afterward that my Arabic GI is from Egypt. :D Thank you ever so much to everyone who said prayers over my big-babying of this procedure, I really, really appreciate it.
Now, the Ship Meme, from
cosmosmariner:
1. Comment with any ship from a fandom that you know I like, or at least have some knowledge about.
2. I will ramble for 100 words about aforementioned ship. This may be incoherent gushing or exclamations of disgust, depending on what it is.
3. Put this on your LJ, if you are so inclined.
I'm willing to do this for SW (Prequels, OT, or Sith War/Golden Age of the Sith EU), Stargate SG-1, Harry Potter, political RPF, or Andromeda. Your choice. :)
