I really am the worst LJ updater ever. Life just doesn't slow down. So I offically had the worst day of my life, and I'm not exaggerating. On Nov. 17, I was in a head-on car accident. I was driving home from work and Carl was following me. All of a sudden a red car comes barreling across a 25-foot grass median toward me. I slam on my brakes and swerve left. He ends up dragging his car along the right side of my car. Meanwhile, Carl sees me slam on my brakes so he slams on his brakes and swerves right. The car hits him head-on. It must have been a 100mph impact. The red car was going about 55-60, and Carl was going about 40-45. Immediately I run to Carl's car to try to help him, but he's trapped in the car. People all over stop and try to help. The paramedics come and use the Jaws of Life to pry Carl out of the car. When I saw them wheel him away on the stretcher, I just about collasped. He was tied down and couldn't move. He had a neck brace on, and it was so awful. I ran up to the stetcher, kissed him, and said that I would see him at the hospital. Then he was gone. I had to stay at the scene to try to figure out everything with the police. The other guy says he had a seizure, but I'm still convincced he was driving under the influence because he was sure acting like he was one something. Plus, he had bloodshot eyes and dialated pupils. He was such a coward! He never even asked me if Carl and I were ok, let alone say he was sorry. He just sat by his car the entire time.
After about an hour, I was finally able to leave and go to the hospital. It's a miracle that Carl is alive. His heel is broken in four places, and he is having surgery this Friday. So he's in a wheelchair and on crutches. It's so stressful for him to go from being a very active adult to not being able to do anything. I have to take care of him because he can't even drive (it's his right heel). So, I'm so stressed because I have issues taking care of myself, so it's just about impossible for me to take care of someone else. But, you have to deal with life as it comes.
But, in good news, he told me that he asked my parents if he could marry me, and they said yes. Of, course they would say yes. We're actually thinking about moving the wedding up to this summer, so we'll see what happens when he asks me. :)
Ok, well, I'm off to make dinner for myself and Carl.
