All night long...

The department of homeland security has nothing on our own internal defense system.

I've slept alone in my apartment about three times since it was broken into. Each time, I've found myself only able to do what could best be described as "half-sleeping." I kind of doze for the duration of the 'play all' function on my dvd of The Office and at any unfamiliar sound, I wake up completely. I usually check the clock at around 4:45 and in the 15 minutes between then and 5, convince myself that no one has time to murder me and I fall asleep. This morning it was until 8.

Last night's teacher included a unique experience. While I was sleeping, my brain heard something that sounded like water running in the bathroom (it was the fridge.) In a dream I was having (and I think also in real life), my skin immediately felt like it was 200 degrees and tingling like crazy. In my dream, I got up, tiptoed toward my bathroom and saw a man standing there with his back to me. I woke up suddenly because in my mind, it was really happening.

And now, I have to go pretend to be a teacher.
