This evening, I leave for Washington to participate in the Seattle Academy of Baroque Opera's workshop on the music of Luigi Rossi. Sounds fun right? Yeah! It does! I've been assigned a short piece (I believe from a cantata) and a scene from his operatic setting of the Orfeo story. In the scene, I get to play a goddess who rips another goddess a new moral asshole. I received the assignment about a week and a half ago and I'm one page away from being memorized on both pieces. I figured I had plenty of time to solidify it before I leave as I woke up at 7:30 to take Frankie to school. And take long morning walk around gorgeous lake.
So I was back at 8:30. It's now 11:00. Let me list what I've been doing for the last two and a half hours.
(note. at all times, 3 or more of these activities have been enjoyed simultaneously.)
*Knitting. I learned to knit yesterday and I'm making a beautiful teal scarf that looks really really bad and I'm still going to wear it every every day.
*Ate a yogurt
*Watching the sixth season (part "one" - you fucking HBO swindlerjerks - every other season was released in one $40 package...season six needs two? for realsies?) of Sex and the City
*Putting many many cds into itunes (no time like the present!)
So the only thing conspicuously missing from this list is
*Working on my music
So that's awesome.
