This is the first novel I've read by Jackie Collins.

Overall, I enjoyed it. The book was fairly fast paced, it was great seeing the story evolve through many different perspectives (As in, even very very minor characters have sections in their point of view), the plot was original and the cast of characters varied and interesting. That being said, I have a few bones to pick.  Firstly, Yes, I understand that these characters are living the life of luxury and fame, but have they ALL been kidnapped at some point? It's been a few weeks since I finished the book and I can still think of 2 definite, and possibly 3 different characters that the book mentions having been kidnapped in the past. Yes, this is a very minor point. But, it annoyed me.
I understand that Lucky and her family have been the characters of other books, so I'm going on just this one particular book on this point, but I feel like the sheer plethora of characters and view points leaves the characters lacking in development, particularly Lucky. It seems to me like Lucky has everything- she's gorgeous, rich, successful, has a wonderful marriage and family life, and basically gets everything she wants. It doesn't seem that she grows or changes or even really barely flinches when confronted with the one issue she is faced with. She just marches out to "deal with" the person threatening what she has, and everything turns out exactly fine for her- she doesn't even have to do the dirty work. There is pretty much no growth and no conflict for her. Some of the other characters did have some growth and change, so maybe Lucky has in other novels as well, I just haven't read any others.

But overall, a fun read. Not overly thought provoking, but enjoyable, with interesting characters and an original plot, which is something I like above anything else.
