Hello world :)
Just taking a quick break before I start lots more work. I've been keeping pretty busy lately. It helps to think, though, that in two weeks I will be out of here enjoying my Thanksgiving holiday.
Let's see...recap of the past week...well it was birthday week! Monday was Karen's birthday! Our night class was canceled, so Karen, Denise, Diana and I went to Chile's for dinner. Tuesday, Jon, Erica, and I went home for election day. Unfortunately, there were no raffles for me to win. Jon told me if I won another bike he wouldn't take me back to school...I wanted to win just to see what would happen.
It was nice being home with Mom. Us three went to vote--first presidential election for me! Mom made pierogis for lunch and then I went to Rizzeri's after specifically calling to see if they were open. The girl told me that they were, asking what I was having done, and I told her. She said, oh, wait til 1:15 b/c the girls went to lunch so i say ok sounds good. So I show up at 1:15 and the lady at the desk is like oh there's no one to do your hair. We don't take appointments. I flipped b/c of course I knew it was a walk-in place but the girl told me to wait. When I had called, I just wanted to make sure they were open and then I was going to go, but the girl on the phone told me to wait. Well, the girl I talked to was apparently just covering for a lunch break. So to sum that up I wasted my time driving out to not get my hair done. After flipping out at the girl telling her I live in Delaware and came to town specifically to get my hair done, I told her to not let this happen ever again because it was a complete inconvenience. Hey, I stretched the truth a little but I really wanted my voice heard. The rest of the day wasn't too interesting, just enjoyable: Kohls, watching recent home videos of family stuff Erica and I have missed out on, yummy dinner (by that point Dad was home), and homemade apple pie to finish off a good day.
The only thing I remember from Wednesday was that it was cousin Jarrett's birthday, so I called him and talked to him for a while. We don't get to talk much since we're both busy with school.
Thursday I went to kickboxing by myself for the first time. Lulu had me kicking her legs and [trying not to be] stepping on her hands, etc. I would have preferred to not be beating up Lulu, but I like kickboxing.
Friday the Howarths came for lunch so Jon and I went with them to Klondike Kates. Kristen and Dana were looking at the school, and it looks like they are coming back for the Villanova game. At night, Jackie, Lauren, Karen, Denise, and I went to see "Shall We Dance." It was so good! I hope my girls from home go see it! Richard Geere and dancing = classic.
Saturday was Jon and Jackie's birthday. I went out to dinner with Jon and his mom to Hibachi; it was really good. Then we got ice cream at Friendly's. Later on we went out to celebrate his birthday some more.
Sunday was geography study day so that was not fun at all. Since then, I've been studying for two other exams (well one was today), doing a paper, and preparing a talk I have to give about Juvenile Delinquency and Violence in schools. Then Monday I have 3 papers due and Tuesday is a Linguistics quiz. Yipe.
Well I've babbled on enough for now. Karen and I had a nice amusing convo passing notes after our math exam. We were held hostage in there until a certain time since we took the earlier exam; they didn't want us to go out and tell all our friends what was on the exam. Sheesh we should have taken an oath or something and had an extra hour to ourselves. It was so hard being right next to Karen and not being able to talk or laugh or anything for an hour! Haha well now I'm really gonna go do work! Say hi sometime!
