These two were taken with Will's camera:

I have returned from my week in Gran Canaria with Will and I have to say the country surprised me. I was expecting something similar to Lanzarote where the hotels are amazing but the surrounding area being a sparse, volcanic and generally not very aesthetically pleasing place. Whilst the beaches were on the whole pebble beaches the area in the near vicinity of our hotel was lovely and scattered with small boutiques and restaurants, perfect for an evening stroll.

We stayed in the Riu Palace Meloneras which is in the Maspalomas region of Gran Canaria and whilst I liked the area I can't say I'd go to Gran Canaria again. The majority of other tourists there were German, Spanish or Italian and if, like me, you enjoy meeting new people then it could be considered quite isolating. Nevertheless, we had an amazing holiday and I can't wait to go to Mallorca on Tuesday!

In other news I went to Mint last night for a staff meal which was lovely. I had caesar salad, chicken in peppercorn sauce and sticky toffee pudding, yum! I'm really looking forward to starting my job now in September, as we are all young teachers with similar interests so I think it will be a fun-filled year, with plenty of hard work of course!

I hope everyone is well ♥

Things to look forward to:
Mallorca
Paris
Cocktails tonight
The Time Traveler's Wife movie
Sunday dinner with my grandparents
