I know it's atmospheric, but we can't see the dishwasher!

The alarm went off at 5.30am this morning, to give us time to get dressed, pack up the last few things and dismantle the bed! There were a few minutes for a quick cup of coffee, and then it was hugs and kisses for everyone, and Geoff, Steph, Nicky and I got into the car for Dad to drive us to the coach stop.

The coach thing is really clever - you buy a ticket straight through to Vancouver airport, and that includes your coach to the ferry port, your ferry crossing, and your coach to the airport. Other people going to various other destinations are also on the first coach, and they shuffle you all around onto other coaches after the ferry, to make sure every person and piece of luggage is headed to the right place.

We caught the 8am coach, had some breakfast on the 9am ferry, failed to see any whales on our crossing, got shuffled onto another coach, and were off to the airport. It's a really good service - we were checking in at Vancouver airport by 11.30am! Steph thought our iPhones were amazing - on the coach waiting to drive onto the ferry (connected to the ferry's free wifi) Nicky was updating our grocery order on the Tesco app, and I was on the ebay app bidding on Canucks jerseys!

The plane was half an hour delayed, but was otherwise uneventful. We watched the latest Shrek film, I read a book about a junior ice hockey player, we had quite a nice dinner, (although Canadian Affair has a weird obsession with mandarin oranges for vegan meals - we got about four each!) got a bit of sleep, and chatted to a British-born Canadian called Gavin sitting next to us.
