bacon covered in tea is ok, but tea with bacon? no.

i asked my sister Charlotte whether she'd enjoyed the new High School Musical film. "yes," she said. "it had kissing in it. real kissing!" she was snuggled up next to me watching a dvd yesterday evening, and at the end a handsome young man got down on one knee and proposed to the main character. Charlotte whispered "yes" under her breath, before the girl on screen had even answered. i think we may have a romantic little almost-five-year-old waiting for her own Prince Charming!

i'm sick at the moment. i refuse to have any time off work as i'm approaching a year without taking any sick days, and that's a milestone i'd quite like to reach as i work in the absence management industry and it seems like an achievement. i'm not at death's door or anything, just generally under the weather with flu symptoms and an angry seal cough, so i'm dosing myself up with various lurid liquids every four hours and managed to sniff my way through every single tissue in Dad's house over the course of the weekend.

today we spent the day in Winchester, looking round the cathedral and the museum. Dylan had a worksheet and clipboard he had to tick things off on as he found them with Dad and was rewarded with a 'history detective' sticker, and Charlotte, Elizabeth and i made a mosaic with bits of old Roman tiles and did some colouring and brass rubbings. very educational.
