so, news... Laura broke up with me a few weeks ago. we're still sharing the flat as friends and have given in our notice for mid-January. Laura's moving in with a couple of friends from work and i'm looking for my own flat, probably into the outskirts of Surrey. too far out for the free London newspapers, but still on the TFL bus network. friends and family/long-lost acquaintances/couch surfers/random strangers will be most welcome.
i went to stay with my Mum for a few days for a bit of looking after and she worked very hard at keeping me distracted! we went to a farm and fed some pigs, had many cups of tea and cake, went to a museum and tried on hats, drove all around the county putting up posters for an event at her workplace, climbed the Malvern hills to watch the fireworks, played monopoly using playmobil figures as counters, (Nigel had a man pruning roses, i had a labrador dog and mum had a tree surgeon with a chainsaw!) she bought me a bag of my favourite sweets (candy letters) from a little 'ye olde sweet shoppe' by the river, and we also watched loads of episodes of Berkeley - A Country Estate taped from the Horse and Country channel (my mum appears on most of the episodes, she's Head Gardener at Berkeley Castle's sister estate Spetchley).
on my last day there, mum and i made blackberry and apple jam, and then some jam tarts! (also some pastry elephants to use up the pastry)
Nigel was very manly and made a fence.
