birthday birthday la la la
i'm in france! it's beautiful and lovely, and i couldn't have wished for a better birthday. (the backspace key on this french keyboard is miniscule, i keep putting hashes in instead of deleting typos, which is taking me ages to type anything intelligible)
must admit, the thought of sitting on an aeroplane for close to three hours with a 4-year-old and a 15-month-old didn't excite me greatly, but they were absolute angels. dylan was installed in his seat with his portable dvd player and a copy of the lion king, and he was good as gold. charlotte used me as her own personal climbing frame, entertainment system and wipe cloth for the entire flight, which made it a lot more interesting than settling down with a good book... although my jeans don't entirely agree with me, and object to their new pattern of dried-on and ground-in farley's rusk crumbs, and baby spit dribbles. i do love being a big sister, and i'm positive charlotte knows that i'm family even though i'm not there all the time.
got new slippers, socks, pyjamas and a book on how to make sushi for my birthday, along with the possibility of an ipod if i want one. i'm going to play with dad's a bit while i'm here and see whether my quality of life would be greatly enhanced with one or not! you can get them in pink, which is a plus... it'll match my imaginary pink mini that i drive around in.
we were in france less than an hour before dylan said that he absolutely needed to go in the pool, so sue went to the supermarket and dad, dylan, charlotte and i braved the water! it was ok once you were in, but bloody freezing when you got out! nothing upon nothing beats the cuteness of charlie scudding around the pool in a swim-nappy and an inflatable ring :D ooh and there are lizards! and shutters on the windows! and my room has proper french flowery wallpaper on the ceiling!
