okay, 1 week away to spend time with my girlfriend and her son - my godson - who were in Ontario (Oshawa) to visit her family - and to spend time with my parents before they went down to Texas again. Wow. Got down there last Sunday evening in time for dinner. It's fun to visit and bond together while helping them with their labours ( Read more... )

*hugs you very tightly*

I'm sorry to hear of your family news. *sending you more hugs* I am so glad that there was a husband and two thumping furballs to give you a lovely welcome home.

Have a good Thanksgiving weekend.

*hugs you again for good measure* :)

Thanks you for the hugs. Hugs back.

You too. Have a good thanksgiving weekend. Weather here is supposed to be nice for today and tomorrow so I hope to get the rest of the garden taken care of and ready for winter.

More embroidery and some housecleaning done.

I know. It wasn't too bad. I was very careful of my back which I injured at the beginning of September - caused by a bruised heel and dislocated ankle which turned into a slightly pinched nerve in my back. All is pretty well back to normal now. I might just do that - give you a call either today or tomorrow.

Sending a hug and thoughts your way. What a busy time! I bank every moment that I can see my Mom or Steve's folks. It's bittersweet. Today is my Mother's 89th birthday - I'll be calling her a bit later, and I sent flowers as usual. I wish I could just pop over to see her!

Thank you. It was a busy time. It was good to be with mom and dad. I hope they still go to Texas. I will miss them. I understand about wishing to pop over to see your mom. I am closer to my parents and it is much easier for me to pop the 4 hours but it is never as easy as it sounds due to other responsibilities. I will be calling them probably every day to find out how my grandmother is.

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother, I know first hand that it is hard on everyone. Home care is a great idea as an idea in fact it burns everyone out. :*(

I haven't been to Halendas in a long long time. Or Teddies or any of the other spots I used to frequent. Oshawa used to hold an international festival for a week, and it was great we'd go to each of the pavillions and taste something new each night. I might just make it out there in the next two weeks to visit some of the relatives.

Thank you.

Halendas was great. I want to go back and try some other stuff. They had some interesting bbq sauces as well. btw have you ever been to the Polish Deli on Simcoe Street (north end - toward Taunton) in a strip mall by Beatrice? I didn't get into it but noticed it.

What is Teddies - never heard of that one.

Reminising...
oh Teddy's is a treat! It started out with two brothers having a deli, it has grown into a good sized sitdown restaurant. May I recommend the homemade salad dressing on any of their salads and the strawberry pie. It is to diet for. I haven't been in there but the location sounds like where Zaks falafal house was.
