Fic: Crazy Vampires (2/2)

Oct 18, 2009 23:36

Because Crazy Vampires didn’t feel entirely finished, I’ve written a second part to it, showing what happened after Gunn left Angel’s office. Here it is.

Title: Crazy Vampires (2/2)
Author: Pinigir
Fandom: Buffyverse
Characters/Pairing: Angel/Spike, mentions Gunn.
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: slash.
Time-line: Takes place during Angel season 5.
Summary: Spike comes to ask Angel what’s up with Gunn.
Disclaimer: Don’t own Angel, Spike or anyone else from the Buffyverse.
Notes: Follows Crazy Vampires (1/2).
Notes: I’m a bit hazy on the geography of the W&H building. I assumed that Angel needed an elevator to get from his office to his apartment, but I’m not entirely sure that was really the case.

Crazy Vampires (2/2)

Angel had just gone back to his work, trying really hard not to think about the possible consequences of him telling Gunn that he and Spike were having sex, when, again, someone came into his office. This person wasn’t nearly as polite as Gunn had been. This person barged in, without knocking, without any consideration of privacy, without any concept of patience. It was Spike. Who else could it be?

“What the hell did you do to Gunn? I just saw him leaving your office, looking like you killed his puppy. And I did not like the look he gave me. It was a very funny look. And I don’t mean ha-ha funny.”

Shit! Of course Spike had to hit the nail right on the head. Spike had a tendency to do that when you least needed it. Like now, for instance. Couldn’t he just send Spike away?

“Spike, can’t this wait? I have work to do.”

“Do I look like I care? I’ll give you a clue: no, I don’t. What I do care about, is knowing why Charlie Boy was all dazed and confused after leaving your office.”

“Would you believe it if I said that it was business related?”

“Not bloody likely.”

“Then I suppose I’ll have to tell you the truth.”

“You’d better.”

“I told him we are having sex.”

“What’d you do that for?”

“He asked me why we weren’t so busy trying to kill each other lately. I could think of no other reasonable answer, so I told him the truth.”

“Good for you. I take it he didn’t take it very well?”

“I don’t know. Apparently, he didn’t see it coming. So, hopefully, he just needs to adjust to the idea.”

“For your sake, I hope you’re right. Could become a bit uncomfortable around here otherwise.”

“You know, he did give us his blessing.”

“Did he now? Well, that’s encouraging.”

“Yes, it is. Though I’d rather not have told him in this manner.”

“You can’t have everything.”

“Indeed. Which reminds me: why are you here?”

“I told you: I wanted to know about Lawyer Boy’s strange behavior.”

“You could have only seen him if you were going to my office in the first place. So I ask again: what did you want?”

“Oh, right. Now that you mention it, there was another reason for me being here.”

“And that reason would be?”

“Hm, how should I phrase it? You’ve been holed up in your office all day. I figured you could use a break - ”

“A break?! I’ve barely got any work done today! Everybody keeps interrupting me! The last thing I need is a break!”

“- and I thought that I could provide you with some much needed distraction. The kind that involves you and me and not much else. It would be good for you. If I understood correctly, Gunn would back me up on this.”

“Spike, I’m busy. I really have work to do.”

“You’re always busy. The paperwork can wait. It’s not like you like doing it anyway.”

“Doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be done.”

“What the hell is wrong with you? I’m here, offering good, free sex. And you’re choosing work over that? Wolfram & Hart has really gotten to you, hasn’t it?”

Angel thought about protesting some more. He really did have a lot of work to do, but with the way things were going, he doubted that he would be able to do anything more today. He was becoming too worked up. Maybe a break would be good. Also, now that the subject of sex was brought up, Angel didn’t think he would be able to get it out of his mind any time soon. That wouldn’t be conductive to his work either. The best remedy would be to take the bull by its horns, so to speak. In short, Angel was beginning to feel more and more inclined to take Spike up on his offer.

Then there was Spike himself. Angel knew Spike. Spike clearly had his mind set on this and once Spike had an idea in his head, there was no way to get it out again. Which meant that Spike was going to pester him until he gave in. In the meantime, Angel would certainly not be able to get back to his work. It would save a lot of time just to give in now. So he did.

“Okay, Spike, you win. I’ll take you up on your offer.”

“Neat.”

“Now I just have to make sure that Harmony knows I won’t be me in my office for a while and then we could go to my place.”

“Sure.”

If it were up to Spike, the office would probably be an excellent location for what he had planned. Angel didn’t want that happening for several reasons. First, the office had far too little privacy: people came in unannounced too often (like today, for example) and there were too many windows. Angel wasn’t too keen on spectators. Secondly, as the CEO of such a large and powerful law firm, Angel wanted to maintain some decorum. Not having sex in the office would help with that. Finally, Angel didn’t think it would be good for his work ethic to have to work in an environment that constantly reminded him of sex. That was why he had suggested his apartment instead.

Spike wouldn’t understand any of these reasons if he ever came to know them. He would take up the challenge to actually make them have sex in the office. That would be a disaster. If Spike ever asked, Angel would say that he wanted to go to the apartment because it was a lot more comfortable. And because he wanted a change of scenery after having been in his office for so many hours. Fortunately, it seemed that Spike didn’t care about locations all that much right now.

As he had said, Angel called Harmony to tell her that he was going out for a break. Then, he and Spike made their way to Angel’s apartment. Of course, with Spike being Spike, Spike couldn’t wait until they were out of the elevator, before he began taking action. By the time they arrived at Angel’s apartment, a number of pieces of clothing had already gone missing. Angel couldn’t say he really minded.

The things that happened next, managed to make Angel forget about everything work related for a good while. Spike could be a pain in the ass, but he had his talents. Angel could definitely appreciate the skill that Spike showed in all sorts of sexual exploits. Though he would never tell him that, of course. As it was, he would only show his appreciation by not kicking Spike out of his apartment immediately afterward and by offering him some of the blood he kept in his fridge when he took some out for himself. After finishing his blood, followed by a quick shower, a newly relaxed Angel was ready to get back to work again.

When Angel came back to his office, he noticed a stack of papers on his desk that hadn’t been there before. Closer examination revealed that these were (probably) the papers that Gunn had wanted him to take a look at earlier, and that Gunn had forgotten to leave there in his state of confusion. The fact that the papers were here now, suggested that Gunn had gotten over the worst of his confusion. That meant that Angel had something less to worry about at the moment, which was great. With renewed vigor, Angel plunged himself into his work. Maybe he could still get some work done today...
